NIOC Connect is Not in our community’s resource of media sessions to help young people learn about and discuss issues around grooming and exploitation.

The film stories and read aloud sessions come with downloadable lesson plans that can be tailored to group type, size, session length, learning style, and with optional focus on specific issues such as forms of grooming, victim and abuser type.

Film Session – Alfie’s Story

The story follows Alfie’s journey of criminal exploitation, how it can happen and the consequences It can have for all involved.

Suitable for Year 7 and above.

Represents the effects of coercive control, an act of relationship abuse. This makes Ava vulnerable to abuse herself.

A short film about a girl groomed online during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Film Session – Fern’s Story

Discover what might happen to Fern depending on what choices she makes after she receives a message on Facebook.

Film Session – Georgia’s Story

Georgia appears at a train station one morning. At the station, she meets Alfie, a victim of CCE, who is still trapped in his situation.
